Second Leaders’ Debate To Take Place In Bristol

The Arnolfini in Bristol will be the venue for The Sky News Debate this evening, the second of the three Leaders’ Debates. The event, organised by Sky News is a landmark event for the City and the South West of England.
In preparation for the debate, Gordon Brown said he would not make personal attacks on Mr Clegg after the Lib Dem leader accused him of being “desperate” when he said Labour was the party of reform.
Nevertheless, he insisted the Liberal Democrat’s economic policy would be damaging for the UK, and reiterated that he was a man of substance over style.
That may be so, but style certainly helps on television, as Mr Clegg found to his benefit.
Meanwhile Mr Cameron has been warning of the dangers of a hung Parliament as he campaigned in marginal seats in the South West, which the Tories need to gain from the Lib Dems.
The Conservative leader was struck by an egg thrown by a student. He will be hoping to avoid that event in metaphor on stage in Bristol.
