March for the Alternative: TUC national demonstration against the cuts will take place in London on Saturday 26th March 2011.

The TUC have called a National Demonstration against the cuts on March 26th in London. Every trade unionist, every activist, every student needs to go all out to build it.
TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber said “let’s start campaigning and mobilising for our national demonstration against the cuts next Spring in London’s Hyde Park on Saturday 26 March. Together let’s make that mobilisation the biggest, boldest and best event in our history.â€
Newly elected UNITE General Secretary Len McClusky has recently said “Unite will support any of its members that wish to take industrial action to save the 1.5 million jobs minimum that are currently threatened, both in the public and private sector.â€Â In an interview McClusky refused to rule out the possibility of a General Strike.
Trade Union branches up and down the country are preparing transport to the demonstration.
Right to Work calls on it’s supporters to go all out to build the demonstration. This can be the springboard to the sort of serious industrial action we need to fight off the cuts.

can you tell me who I should contact so I can get a lift from Brighton for the alternative demo in London? Thanks
Hi Rob,
Your best bet would be to either speak to your local union rep in work or contact one of the union’s directly via their websites. Hope this helps.
The day will be brightened and wonderfully warmed by thousands upon thousands of Her Majesty’s British subjects up and down the land descending on London to exercise their right to peacefully demonstrate against Her Majesty’s present Tory led coalition government’s unwarranted, punitive, stringent economic, domestic, social and international discredited policies.
