What is April Fools’ Day?

April Fools’ Day is celebrated in different countries in the Northern Hemisphere on April 1 every year. Sometimes referred to as All Fools’ Day, April 1 is not a national holiday, but is widely recognized and celebrated as a day when many people play all kinds of jokes and foolishness. The day is marked by the commission of good-humoured or otherwise funny jokes, hoaxes, and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, family members, teachers, neighbors, work associates, etc.

Edinburgh Or Bust!

Back for another year, Bristol BrouHaHa! champions the best acts from the UK comedy circuit before they take their brand new shows to the internationally renown Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August. Bristol BrouHaHa! effectively brings you the best of Edinburgh comedy in Bristol before Edinburgh.

Across nine nights at the Tobacco Factory Theatre and the Hen & Chicken (home to The Comedy Box) in Southville, Bristol BrouHaHa! will present to you no less than 22 brand new shows from the great and the good in UK comedy. Each show is presented as part of a double bill giving you twice as much for your money. Plus we have brought back our 3 SHOWS FOR THE PRICE OF 2 offer which was hugely popular last summer.

Bristol BrouHaHa 2011 sees the return of some old friends from the past couple of years plus some new faces, and most of them have appeared previously at The Comedy Box or the Tobacco Factory Theatre at some stage in their careers. All of them, certainly, come with the BrouHaHa seal of approval and are all highly recommended.

Full listings can be found here and most pages contain video clips of the acts that are appearing.

Bristol BrouHaHa! is a non-sponsored, non-council funded event. We are totally reliant on ticket sales and your support is crucially important. We request that you not only buy tickets for someone you’ve seen before but also take in at least one show featuring acts you’ve never heard of. You might very well be witnessing the rise of a future comedy star!
